A: They are suitable for painted walls, stained or varnished wood, glass, tile, plaster, painted cinder block, metal and wallboard.
Q: Do Command Damage-Free Hanging Products adhere to bricks?
A: No. They are suitable for flat, smooth surfaces such as those listed above, and in addition, painted cinder block with smooth surface (commonly found in school buildings).
Q: May I use Command Damage-Free Hanging Products on wet paint?
A: Use Command Damage-Free Hanging Products on paint that is fully dry (may check with paint manufacturer). We recommend waiting for about a month because alcohol may remove or dull fresh paint. The paint may not adhere firmly to the wall when it is not completely dry. Any item hung on it may come off easily and pose damage to the surface.
Q: May I use Command Damage-Free Hanging Products on wallpaper?
A: No.
Q: May I use Command Damage-Free Hanging Products on glass windows?
A: You can use Command Damage-Free Hanging Products if the glass is not exposed to direct sunlight or not immersed in water. For example, do not affix the products on the inside and outside of glass windows facing south or west. For glass doors of the shower room, use our special Command Waterproof Products (blue strips), which are clearly marked on our packaging.
Q: May I use Command Damage-Free Hanging Products on my car windows?
A: No. They are not suitable for both sides of the car windows because of exposure to extreme weather conditions.
Q: May I use Command Damage-Free Hanging Products under cold weather?
A: You may, if the temperature is above 10°C, the adhesive can be applied directly onto a clean, smooth and dry surface. If the temperature is below 10°C, warm the surface with a hair dryer and affix the products when the surface is still warm.
Q: May I use Command Damage-Free Hanging Products under hot weather?
A: Extreme heat and sun exposure can damage the adhesiveness. If the temperature rises above 40°C, the adhesiveness diminishes over time until it is completely gone.
Q: May I use Command Damage-Free Hanging Products inside my car?
A: We do not recommend using these in your car because the adhesiveness of the strips may be compromised or even lost when the temperature is above 40°C. In addition, vinyl dashboards and door panels contain have high content of plasticizers, making it hard for the strips to stick firmly on the surface.
Q: Is there any different between white strip and blue strip in term of their application and applicable temperature?
A: Command Damage-Free white strips can be used in areas such as living room and bedroom, where the temperature ranges from 10°C to 40°C. The special Command Water Resistant blue strips demonstrate amazing adhesiveness on surfaces with a temperature ranging from 10°C to 50°C. As such, the blue strips work well not only in dry areas, such as living room and bedroom, but also in high humidity environment, such as bathroom and kitchen.

A: Command Damage-Free Hanging Products are perfect for closets, lockers, offices, kitchens, laundry rooms, lobbies, kid’s rooms, dorm rooms, bathroom and camper vans. Each pack of hooks comes with extra strips, so the hooks can be reused or re-positioned.

Q: What happens if I pull too hard when removing the strip and the strip breaks?
A: Warm the portion of the strip stuck to the wall using a hair dryer to soften the adhesive. Then slide a piece of dental floss beneath the Command strip foam from the top downward, cutting through the adhesive. Remove the hook or hanger.
Q: Why do I have to wait 24 hours before hanging something on the hook?
A: This is to allow enough time to ensure strong enough adhesiveness to the wall or surface, as such, fully realize the adhesiveness of the strip.
Q: Why can't I clean the surface with a household cleaner?
A: Many household cleaners leave behind a very thin film of residue after cleaning, which affects the adhesiveness to the surface. (use alcohol swabs instead for best cleaning)
Q: If I want to hang an item with Command Damage-Free Hooks but it is heavier than the recommended weight limit stated on the package, may I use more than one hook?
A: No, we do not recommend this. Weight may not be distributed equally and can result in failure.
Q: Do Command Damage-Free Strips contains latex?
A: No. Command Damage-Free Strips are made with synthetic rubber resin; they do not contain natural rubber latex.
